Good day and good week guys!!!
While searching of what to paint during last weekend, I came up with the idea of restructuring my armies in a more elaborate way.
I already have plenty of elements (artillery guns, A/A guns, A/T guns, machine guns etc.) for my armies, but until now, these were not coherent and organized in a compact way (I am not referring to any music...).
This is why I decided to take a pencil and a piece of paper (well, to be exact it was an Excel sheet) and try to make sub units for these armies (Artillery, A/A guns, A/T guns, Snipers, Tanks, Halftracks etc.).
First things first I decided to go with artillery units. And so I went to my local hobby shop and I bought some new figs and models (starting from Russian Artillery - in dirt bases).
I got two of Zvezda's Soviet 122mm Howitzers (I still need two to make a normal battery section), and Hat's WW1 Russian Infantry Heavy Weapons Set (It may be for WW1, but some figs can be used accordingly, such as officers).
I still need to buy two more howitzers, some crew figures (Orion's 72041 Soviet Artillery crew), and some GAZ trucks (still working on where to buy them from).
Below, you will find some photos of my newly painted latest acquisitions.
I hope you like them!

A great looking unit, uniform colours look spot on.
ReplyDeleteAwesome progress Thanos, this Zvezda set is good value I think.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Fantastic!!! These guys look great.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I like the paint jobs there.
ReplyDeleteOne of the pictures with the officer in front and one other figure in the distance looks as if they are about to duel.
The god of war in all it's painted beauty, nice work Thanos.
ReplyDeleteVery good work, Thanos. Soviet artillery used to be the master of the field, so a foe to be afraid of
ReplyDeleteHey nice work! What is the scale of these miniatures?
ReplyDeletethanks!
