Good afternoon everyone!
Hope you are all well.
I have made some major orders for my ever growing armies, through the net, and in the meantime, I have painted (and I guess that I will paint some more, till my models come) some figures. Tommies of the Wessex Wyverns for my Normandy project.
These plucky lads are from 3 figure kits. PSC Late War British Infantry 1944-45, Caesar British Army and Esci's / Italeri British Paratroopers. The two kneeling figures that come from Esci's kit, have new helmets on their heads, made from Green Stuff. All in all, it took me 2.5 hours to paint these figures, a mediocre result for my records.
These last two photos show you the the biggest part of my WW2 Tommies. Still have a lot to paint! I have many many ideas for this army. :-)
I hope you like them!
Have a great Thursday night everyone - if you don't, remember that tomorrow is Friday!! Best day of the week! :-)

Greetings, Mr. T! Your army is amassing by leaps and bounds. Very nice conversions and painting. I hope to see this formidable force on the gaming battlefield in the future.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting Thanos, the helmets look cool!
ReplyDeleteThose are very nice. I like the larger bases on the last pic the most.
ReplyDeleteSuperb Thanos!
ReplyDeleteYou did a more than mediocre job on these Thanos. Your highlights are there and the weathering is good. Your army is getting there. Looking forward to seeing them in the Normandy you are building.
ReplyDeletenice work! hope you can paint all you want to do before the new models arrive!
ReplyDeleteCracking progress T.
ReplyDeleteWow great looking force so far.
ReplyDeleteThey look good T, you're a faster painter than me :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea of using the Paras as normal infantry, perhaps with a bit of greenstuff you could convert their Denison jump smocks to look like leather jerkins?
Fantastic looking force Thanos!
ReplyDeleteVery pleasing to the eye. Just loved the shoulder flashes...these will be brilliant in any war-game set up. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking work. I like the conversions on the paratroopers, I've just painted the same models and I didn't recognise them at first! It's interesting seeing the different ranges together, I've always been cautious about mixing them because of slight differences in size, but it's really not very obvious when they're painted.
ReplyDeleteSplendid work on those Brits, T. I have a little suggestion to paint Leather Jerkins (http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g53/TonyBarton/more%20dollies/Great-War-jerkin.jpg) onto the Ex-Paras. They were worn extensively throughout the '44/'45 Europe Campaign, and it would make a nice diversity to your ranks too.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the wonderful painting, you'll soon have enough Brits to march right into Berlin!

Nice work Thanos. Great use of colours and basing!
ReplyDeleteHi Thanos,
ReplyDeletegood work. Those fellows will do well on the battlefield.
Cheers
