Being a modeller for quite a few years now, I decided to explore the endless possibilities that the world (through internet) offers, and come up with a series of ways of building, modelling and painting fast (but not hastily), to create the worlds I was seeing in history books since I was little. . .If you care to join me. . . Italeri #6068 (German Elite troops) - with a touch of white!

Good day everyone!

Last night I painted two figures from Italeri's set (#6068 German Elite troops), using white colour variation for their uniforms.

While not totally accurate in terms of historical approach, for example one figs' tunic was supposed to be painted either field grey or with a camouflage pattern, I think they came out rather good.

I hope you like them!

  1. Very nice! I have that set, with one of each painted in what I would like to think of as pea dot. I will certainly follow your lead and paint some in winter gear next.

  2. Once again super figs. With the limited variety in plastic to be historically correct we have to bend the rules a bit an improvice. How do they say at 2 feet no one will notice the difference.

  3. Yes, they came out great Thanos, and don't worry about the accuracy, most people wouldn't know anyway, I really love that Italeri set.

I really like the white smogs and the decent shading.

Unfortunately there are so few snow covered gaming tables...

  7. Great Work. A question: Did you "wash" them or painted them in grey and drybrushed in white?
I like them very much and because I have a sprue of them I want to paint the minis the same way!

  11. Completely agree with Greg on the 2 feet rule! Weren't some of the camouflage smocks reversible, with a white liner?

These will be handy for the Ardennes as well, nice work.

  12. Those look great Thanos. Did you use baking soda on the base for these too ?
