Good day everyone!
After a long absence from my blog (due to reasons that have to do with my job and the current situation my country is in - where can you find the mood to paint, when you only hear that we are going to get bankrupt..?), I've managed to paint some German figs for winter war.
The bases got this snow effect, by using some good old baking soda.
I hope you like them!

- Being a modeller for quite a few years now, I decided to explore the endless possibilities that the world (through internet) offers, and come up with a series of ways of building, modelling and painting fast (but not hastily), to create the worlds I was seeing in history books since I was little. . .If you care to join me. . . This is the place to be! And, I promise you to find the way (or ways)!!

Nice! What make is the guy in the winter smock holding the machine gun? He looks brutal!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant as always T. Those field coats with the snow at the bottom looks the part A+
ReplyDeleteYep, great stuff again from you T. I especially like the dusting of snow on the bottom of the greatcoat on the sniper.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever go bankrupt, you can always save the country by selling some of your works... :-)
Lovely work Thanos, Greece certainly is getting the bums rush from some banks and countries.....
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting. Really like the snow effect too. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteSuper work Thanos. When Rome is burning (Or in your case Greece) the best thing to do is keep on modelling.
ReplyDeleteKeep your chin up mate, we are always looking for immigrants down under mate.
Regards Paul
Very nice work Mr. T. The best way to forget your troubles is to read about history and paint/play, with soldiers.
ReplyDeleteVery pleasing-to-the eye. In the words of Yoda...Very nice it is baking soda!"
ReplyDeleteThank you guys!
ReplyDelete@ThomasNissvik: The figure is made by Caesar miniatures company. Germans in winter dress.
@GReg: Thank you mate, they came out unexpectedly well! :)
@Modern Kiwi: Thank you....if it's to save my country I'd sell anything, including my little men! :)
@AngryLurker: Thank you Fran, I reckon that what happens here in Greece will be the guide for the rest western countries (up to a certain degree). I mean the social benefits and all the goods that come with western societies.
@Rodger: Thank you Rodger! :) Baking soda, imagine that!
@Paul: I am currently looking for what you call ''stiff upper lip'' so to cope with the current affairs..:) Thank you for proposing the chance of coming to your country for work! I appreciate it! :)
@Ben:Thank you Ben! I'd try to keep that in mind and make it happen!
@Jay: Thank you Jay! Baking soda rules! :)
Thanos, thanks, I'll add that set to my purchase list.
ReplyDeleteNice work Thanos. The greatcoats in particular look great with the snow on the hems. Good idea using a mix of greatcoats and smocks as well, photos from the Eastern front often seem to show a mix.
ReplyDeleteHope things start to improve for you all in Greece soon. On the plus side, my Mother in Law isn't able to go on holiday to Greece like she planned this year, so you will all be spared that extra trial! ;-)
