My photo
Being a modeller for quite a few years now, I decided to explore the endless possibilities that the world (through internet) offers, and come up with a series of ways of building, modelling and painting fast (but not hastily), to create the worlds I was seeing in history books since I was little. . .If you care to join me. . . This is the place to be! And, I promise you to find the way (or ways)!!

"If money is the root of all evil, why are churches always begging for it?"

Good day and good week everyone!

Being away from the hobby for a few days now, due to a crash I had with my motorbike, I decided to show you the church I've made for a project that me and two friends have decided to create (Battle of Donaweurth 1704).
This church, can also be used for other projects (you may guess . . .). A HO (1/87) model from Faller, but I think you couldn't tell the difference when it's going to be placed alongside my other building pieces.

I hope you like it!

  1. Sorry for the accident. Are you ok?

The model is beautiful, it really gives the feeling of an old countryside church. Keep on with it!

  2. First of all I hope that you´re o.k., Thanos!
The church and the yard are beautiful. Great work. I´m curious how a 1:72 Figure would fit to the doors?

  5. Hey Thanos! I hope all persons involved in the crash are fine!

The Church and the surroundings look great! Will this be the terrain you'll finally use? Then you should scratch some grass off and make some paths :)

    Cheers Mojo

  8. Thank you guys!
We were only 2 involved in this little accident: Me and a woman. She crossed the road without noticing the 'STOP' sign. How typical is this?
I am still standing (with some scratches to be honest), 'cause I usually dont run, but my bike (aka 'bucket'), has acquired some serious damages! The cost for fixing it will be almost 1.500euros. Thankfully the lady's insurance will pay till the last cent, otherwise with my salary. . . (that's why I don't run - in case I have another crash and it's my fault, I will have to find a second job to pay the possible damages)!
Alas, I have to commute to work through tube and buses now (for 2 weeks the very least). . .
@Mojo: The terrain pieces are modular bluefoam tiles (30*30cm) with static grass glued on them, so I'll have to scratch build some small paths. Thanks for the idea mate! :-)

  11. Good to hear you are still standing, but sorry to hear about the damage to the bike. The church is fantastic, a great and versatile piece of terrain. Were the walls part of the kit or added from another source?

  17. Thanks again guys!
@John + Alan: The walls are from Busch #6014 (Stone wall w/metal gate). The walls you are seeing in the photos are made from 2 kits. Each kit isn't very expensive (~ 8 euros). The kit's detail is very good and they can be used in many ways. :-)

  18. Well done with that Mr T. How does it look with some of your WW2 stuff next to it, and does the roof come off? - I could imagine a sneaky sniper in the bell tower.

  19. Excellent church work, Thanos. Poor job of Bible quotation though.

The quote is "For the love of money is _a_ root of all kinds of evil."

    1 Timothy 6:10

    In His service.
