Hi everyone!
Hope you are all well.
As most of you that follow my blog, you must have already noticed that I paint models destined to play in WW2 theatres. Well, that was until today - or last Monday to be honest.
In my last post, I told you about a game I was going to play with Dimitris ( Bridge across the river Die) based on the SDS rules.
It was a fun game to play (even though that Dimitris beat the hell out of me). I had a great time! Dimitris has helped me a lot, since I was completely ignorant about the rules.
But, this game had its price. I liked the figures very much. And with the correct ''guidance'' of Dimitris, I decided to switch to the ''Dark Side''...the painting Napoleonic figures side.....However, I promised to my self to paint only 10-20 figures of them. The SDS rules is for skirmish games. Not a lot of figures, but a lot of fun while playing. My kind of thing actually.
I got to my local hobby store after work today, and bought a kit of Redcoats. I got Hat's #8186 Peninsular War British Infantry. It was an easy choice....I have lived in England for quite a while. ;-)
So, not any painted figures in this post. Just a notification of my ''betrayal''. :-)
Have a great Pre-Friday night everyone! :-)
Oh Thanos, what have you done?........:P
ReplyDeleteYou will be using colour Thanos! I'm looking forward to this one.
ReplyDeleteLOL welcome to the dark side, Napoleonics are one of my favourite periods, I love the colourful uniforms, great fun, looking forward to your progress.
ReplyDeleteah well you only went from a popular period to another popular one, its not really any type of dark art like those people who game with bronze age stuff, or heavens forbid sci-fi in 1/72.
ReplyDeletehmm I guess moderns might fit into some category in-between.
For some reason unknown to me all of the local shops refuse to get this set into stock. I find it rather frustrating as it's got a few nice uniform variants so multiple brigades could easily be done from the one box for a game like Black Powder. Ah well....
ReplyDeleteof course like your web site however you have to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts.
ReplyDeleteA number of them are rife with spelling issues and I
find it very bothersome to inform the reality nevertheless I'll definitely come back again.
