If you've seen my last post, I have made a tutorial about making a chicken coop. Today I am showing you a tutorial on how to make a pig sty.

To be honest though, my main source of inspiration, was an article of how to make a farm, from Matakishi's Tea House site (www.matakishi.com). This guy, has produced some excellent terrain pieces, and I simply couldn't help it, but to try to make some of my own. Please, do visit the site, it's like the Ali Baba's cave, full of riches!
Anyhow....
Again , all measures are in centimetres. The photo thread below is (I believe) self explanatory. If not, you can always ask! :-)
The pigs are from Pegasus Farm Animals set (#7052).

ReplyDeleteNice one. The making barnyard animal huts etc is quite addictive once started. I had to literally stop making bits and pieces...At one point, I was seriously considering making a farm house, and buying some 1/72nd tractors etc...wargaming - the really slow style :-D

This takes me back to my days as a little girl. Getting up before the sun, mucking out stables and slopping the pigs. They'd get so excited when they saw me coming, pushing against each other and squeeling.

ReplyDeleteFor that extra dash of realism I'd substitute the greenery with well ploughed mud and yellow straw. I've tended to pigs and the sty stays green perhaps a few days after you set the pigs loose. What they don't eat, they dig up. Still, a nice display which should give rural farmsteads a lot of character.
