Good week everyone.
Its been a long week this past one, but, I must say that I painted much. I didn't have the time to surf the web a lot, and instead I tried to use my spare time in order to paint some more.
Below you will find some photos of three 2'' mortar bases, coming from Revell's British Infantry kit (#02523). They are a bit off the 20mm scale (bigger than usual), but this kit provides some good figures for various purposes, such as the 2'' mortars that were an indispensable asset to every British Infantry platoon. Their main job was to throw smoke for covering the advancing Tommies, but they could also bring some explosive charges on their adversaries' heads. :-)
So...
I hope you like them.
Have a good night everyone.
T.
P.S: Hopefully, my next post will display some work of mine related to German forces in the Normandy area - just for a change. So, until next time: stay tuned!
Great work Thanos, I love all the different types of foliage you've put on the bases, it really adds to the effect. A top job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray! :)

ReplyDeleteA special mention to my special green friends: grass, tufts and meadow flowers! :)Thank you Brummie!
DeleteNice job with these figures and bases. The 2" mortar is a great tool in the British toolkit, mostly for smoke. Nicely done. Is the radio operator and officer in the background from the Valiant British set?
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Mike
Thank you mate!
DeleteThe Radio operator with the officer are from AB figures. :) The best in the market IMO
Brilliant job on those T, the bases look particularly fine. Know what you mean about the Revell figures being on the large size- those AB radio chaps behind them seem to fit in ok though.
ReplyDeleteThank you John. Not all the Revell figs blend nicely with my other British (Airfix, Caesar etc), but some figs do. Its a matter of choice from each kit. I know it sounds a bit fossy, but I like to use what suits my plans. :)
DeleteI really enjoy the basing you did there well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dan. :)
Deletegreat work, nice mortars, I am slightly annoyed that modern mortar sets are usually crap. these guys look very nice and are a nice little representation of mortar teams
ReplyDeleteThere are some better models than these ones (metal ones) but I think that they came out nicely in the end. :) Thank you
DeleteGreat figures and bases T. You always manage to impress.
ReplyDeleteThank you Greg. It the figures that may impress you, not my work. :)
DeleteAnother brilliant unit Thanos.
ReplyDeleteThey are piling up Dan. I think I might be needing more boxes! :)Thanks
DeleteWonderful stuff Thanos. great work.
