Hi everyone,
A nice Thursday night tonight, and I am about to share some photos of my newly painted German Tanks. These would be the famous Pzkpfw V 'Panther' Ausf. G, made from Italeri (#7504) - the easy build kit.
This kit comes with two models. I got one last week and I decided to refurbish one of my old Pz V's I had bought in the past (same kit). Paul from Plastic Warriors (an excellent blog to visit) has given me a lot of ideas, and I'd like to thank him for that. :-)
I painted this whole lot with sprays and a lot of patience. The camo effect was achieved with the 'stencil' method, as I'd like to call it - meaning that I used some hollow straps in cardboard as a guide for my camo effect while spraying the colours on/through them onto the model.
On with the photos then:
I hope you like them!

Very nice Panthers sir! Camo is very good
ReplyDeleteSth to stand against my ongrowing force of Tommies Brummie! :) Thank you
DeleteExcellent painting Thanos! They look superb! And a very clever way to paint the camo as well!
ReplyDeleteNow with all this recession thing, I come to think that I get more ideas to be effective in my hobby. A man will do what he can do! :) Thank you Ray!
DeleteYou've done well with the camo mate, bloody good work!
ReplyDeleteIts amazing what you can do with a little help of some cardboard and some sprays. :)
DeleteGreat work. It looks like you paint them with airbrush!
ReplyDeleteNope, no airbrush Kosta. A piece of card and some sprays. And a lot of patience! :)
DeleteThanos, they look absolutely superb! What a great job Sir.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. Your comments always make me fell happy for my work. Simply because you are an excellent modeller by yourself. :)
DeleteThat is impressive work!
ReplyDeleteAnd very cumbersome work Dan. But it was worth the effort. Thank you
DeleteVery subtle effect you've achieved with the spray Thanos. Nice and even coverage-just fantastic. You know what I'd like to see you paint-a sculpt with elegant lines-you're an artist and I'd like to see you stretch your talent. I'm thinking talking about a sculpt something along these lines

It's beyond my ability, but you've the talent to do a sculpt like this justice.
Me, an artist? You are exaggerating a but my fair lady.
DeleteThis fig you mentioned is simply fantastic. I am afraid that my work cant be up for it. The guy that painted it is an artist. I am a mere modeller who wants to become a good painter. :)
Wow, very nice ones... Never seen this one quick-build set around, only the Russian armour.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew. I think (inn terms of wargaming) that they are some really good models. :) You could use them if you play wargames. I was very please by their quality. :)
DeleteReally nicely painted and weathered, Thanos - you've really brought them to life.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They are very good models to be honest, so my work was merely the means to justify their quality. :)
DeleteGreat result Thanos. The weathering, chipping, camo- all look excellent.
ReplyDeleteThanks John. It was a rather time consuming task, but now I that I finished it, I can go and paint some other models I have in mind. No more Pz V for Normandy! :)
DeleteThese turned out nice Thanos, great weathering.
ReplyDeleteHere's another "great job!" Thew subtle weathering is tops.
ReplyDeleteSplendid work all around. Top notch!
ReplyDeleteHard work = Amazing results

ReplyDeleteTruly great work, especially for fastbuilds.

ReplyDeleteBlimin flip Thanos !
