Italeri - Set 6095 - British Infantry 1815

I have been busily working on many projects and from time to time I manage to finish some of them.

Entering the world of muskets (French, Confederates) and the Colour Galaxy (did you know that there were other colours besides Field Grey, Field Drab, Olive Drab, Khaki and so on?) a couple of months ago, I painted these two chaps from Italeri's British Infantry 1815 set of figures in their distinctive colours: red and white (alongside with some other colours as well).

Plenty of details to paint meaning that it took me almost two hours to complete them. A tedious task, well worth the result though. I keep telling myself that I'm only going to paint 20-30 figures from this set, just for skirmish games, but, and there's always a but for us, the weak willed modellers...

Zvezda Set 8049 Russian Infantry of Peter the Great

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all well.

Having to cope with Greece's warm weather, I came up with the ida of cooling myself by painting some figures for the Great Northern War. Some friends from the Wargames Club I'm in, suggested that we could use Volley and Bayonet rules (by F. Chadwick) for playing the battle of Poltava (among other battles of the war I suppose, but, that was the original plan).

I got some boxes of Zvezda's excellent figures (Russian Infantry of Peter the Great), and came up with this:

Rebel Yell!!!

Greetings everyone.

Hope you are all well.

One historical period that always fascinated me, is the American Civil War. A bitter stuggle between two sides (Union & Confederate) under the American sun, that inflicted grief and suffering on a large scale - in terms of casualties rate compared to the populations involved.

Below, you will find a pair of figures coming from Italeri's wonderful set #6014 (Confederate Infantry). They were a joy to paint, and I hope that I will use them in one of my future skirmish games.

Screaming Eagles‏

Last week we had the 70 years anniversary since D-Day.

My offer to these fine young (at the time) men, who gave so much for the prosperity of the  future generations, are these small figures of US Paratroopers (Esci's Set US Paratroopers  - now sold by Italeri).

Les enfants de l' Empereur

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a pleasant w/e.

A few days ago, I painted some figures from Italeri's #6066 set - French Infantry (Napoleonic).

They are a bit taller and chunkier compared to other figures I've painnted so far, but the detail and historical accuracy are on the high level (for the former I am quite sure, for the latter, I leave that to you).

If you found some mistakes in terms of accuracy, please show some tolerance - I've never painted Les Blues before.

Painting Guide - WW1 Russian Infantry

Saludos!

My last post was about WW1 Russian Infantry, destined to fight in the Great War.

My new venture in exploring different eras in terms of figure painting, has led me to carry with me a small notebook, in which I write down ideas and thoughts that may help me while painting and preparing my small armies.

In one of these notes, I wrote down the colours needed in order to paint these figures. After that, I made a clear copy of it (my letters are no better than a doctor's - and I'm no doctor to be excused for that).

Zvezda Set 8082 Russian Infantry of World War I‏

1914.... the year of the Great War.

Central Powers and the Entente clashed in a bloody war that costed millions of lives and brought a havoc in the world, especially in Europe.

Below you will see, some newly painted figures from Zvezda's Set (#8082 Russian Infantry of WW1). A bit tedious to assemble but, the result is simply stunning in terms of 20mm figures.
